What is the NDIS?

The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) supports people with a permanent and significant disability that is considered to be with them for life. The NDIS is the Government’s way of providing a range of support to Australian citizens and residents under the age of 65 who have a disability. If you are eligible for the NDIS you will receive an individualised plan funded through the NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency).

Through the NDIS, people living with a disability can access valuable information about the types of support that are provided in N.S.W by the state government and connect with disability organisations and other services within their communities.

Who Is Eligible For NDIS Funding?

At First Gen Support Services, we currently support people living with disabilities up to 65 years of age.

Potential clients may be eligible to access one of our services through the NDIS if they:

  • Live in Australia, and are Australian citizens, Permanent Visa holders, or Protected Special Category Visa holders

  • Have a disability

  • Have a disability that is significant or likely to be permanent, making it difficult to take part in everyday activities

  • May need to use special equipment because of a permanent and significant disability

  • Are in need of some support to reduce their future needs.
